The Quality Assurance Analyst (QA Analyst) is responsible for evaluating the quality and stability of the Magnus product and all product process, finding and recording defects, accurately communicating those issues to the development team to ensure pre-defined quality standards are met across all aspects of the product, including the main secure site, parent portal, mobile application, and the emergency response system.

It is the responsibility of the QA team to ensure that the product and development teams are aware of all known issues found during testing to make informed choices and prioritize work across all departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with QA, Product, and Development teams to develop comprehensive acceptance and test plans based on product and usability requirements.
  • Partner with Product team and Development leads to ensure requirements are testable.
  • Formally execute test plans and generate reports of results from manual testing, and use of automated testing tools as necessary.
  • Track bugs, defects, all fixes or mitigations, and maintain all bug and defect tracking reports.
  • Identify trends and recommends QA process updates including updates to test plans or processes.
  • Record and report Production and vendor problems and concerns.
  • Works with other parts of the organization (e.g. portfolio management and product management teams) as necessary to ensure support in attaining output, quality, and productivity.
  • Permanently seeks for a better understanding of product specifications in the light of learner's needs and expectations.

Job Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of related QA experience & Bachelor’s degree or appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Self-starter, independent worker, can work as a team member.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and prioritize multiple projects as they are assigned required.
  • Ability to focus on and manage deadlines and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work with varied staff members and personalities required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Understanding of automated testing tools and platforms, such as Selenium, and ability to create test scripts preferred.
  • Experience working with bug tracking software such as JIRA, Mantis, and Bugzilla preferred.
  • Understanding and previous experience working in an Agile development setting.
